my favorite season

Fall is my absolute favorite season. From the colors to the crisp air. I love every part of it.

Fall does mean the end of summer and the end of my garden, but I love preparing for the winter preparing to hunker down for winter. The trees are easily my favorite part. I go on more walks just to look at the leaves. Sometimes, I'll collect leaves to keep for myself. Next fall, I will be looking for acorn weevils on oak trees. I might look creepy to my neighbors, but oh well.

I think I also like fall because of school, or at least when I was in school. I need structure in my day to feel productive and stay focused. Fall meant that there would be structure, and that felt alleviating in some weird way. Fall mornings are amazing..

Sorry Christmas lovers, but I am a Halloween lover. I like Halloween a lot more than Christmas. Growing up, it meant staying out late with my friends, seeing people's decorations, and so much candy. Now that I'm an adult, I can wear a fun costume and give candy to the trick or treaters! Last Halloween, my partner and I were dressed as Pikmin, and it was lots of fun. I am a little heartbroken that less and less kids are trick or treating, though. What happened? Christmas is being stuck with my family which is w/e.

My outfits are the best in the fall too. My strategic layers and colors suit the chill of fall without a jacket covering it like in the winter. When else can I wear a button down under a sweater?

The food in fall is cozier too. Spices, squashes, soups, etc. It's the best time for me to cook. Maybe I'll share my squash/pumpkin pasta recipe.
