The US Senate has passed the resolution to lift the mining ban near the Boundary Waters. This is a devastating blow to our public lands. They will come for other public lands in the country. Jobs will be lost. Resources and money lost. Most importantly, life lost. The House will continue to use resolutions to lift other environmental protections to bypass proper proceedings. It is a dangerous tool for them.
The fight is not over. Companies will need to acquire permits. Those permits can be blocked. There are still ways to prevent destruction here and elsewhere.
